We are over the hump for the first week. Today we got to dive into some actual history content as we looked at what the Americas looked like before European arrival. We then discussed the exchanges of culture and disease that occurred when Europeans and Native Americans began to interact. Tomorrow, we are going to see how Spain started to transform the New World into its own image as well as pave the way for the English a century later. **Announcements** States & Capitals Test 8/17 Make sure you turn in the Syllabus by Friday 8/17

We are 2 days into the school year and I hope that everyone else is as excited as I am about what is in store for us. Today in class we examined some basic components of the AICE History exam that will take place in May of 2019. We then took our first look at Component (Paper 1) that is a bit of a fraternal twin to the Document Based Question (DBQ) that you did for AP World and AP European History. Having an idea and focusing on the skills that the Cambridge program is requiring will give us a great focus to work towards the rest of the school year. I hope everyone has a great night and I will look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow when we will dive into some actual history. **Announcements** Turn in your questionnaires/syllabus TOMORROW States & Capitals Test 8/17 Welcome back to GHS everyone!
